When did Virtual Hand start trading:
March 2011 alongside temporary work and from Sept fulltime.

Tell us what you do and how you do it:
We support busy, service-based business owners by reducing their admin and marketing workloads. We do this with PA services such as chasing money, people and projects and marketing services such as email marketing, social media, telemarketing and blog writing and proofreading. Working with business owners to brainstorm and create plans and provide accountability to keep tasks on track and achieve business goals.
Who are Virtual Hand customers:
Business owners in their 3+ years of starting business, looking to scale but not employ and do more of the work they love. This could be sole traders, partners and small companies. Looking for experienced and qualified team members that can hit the ground running without sitting by their side. Looking for all-year-round support and wanting to be signposted to other businesses to grow their network and use reliable and recommended services.
What makes your business stand out from your competitors:
Team environment for continuity and variety of skills and experience. My straightforward talking attracts business owners who are action takers and ready to invest in support.
What are the main strength/s of your business:
Over 9 years in business shows longevity and experience.
What are the values that drive your business:
Communication, integrity and honesty.
What’s your favourite business book and why:
E-myth by Michael Gerber – one of the first that I read and which has stuck with me. Lead me to my processes product and helping business to document how they do things to help in recruiting, retention and standards within their business.
What is the most useful lesson you’ve learned through experience:
Clarify, clarify and clarify. I’m always happy to ask if I’m not 100% sure. Not a lover of wasting time and energy when a simple question would have sorted it all out.
What is the main mistake to avoid in future:
I’m quick to engage with new suppliers/team members and sometimes this has backfired. I have a great team so finding equally good people is sometimes difficult but I know they are out there! I don’t want to stop reaching out that hand of support and trust.
Which business success are you most proud of:
I love every single recommendation received, those words of encouragement but the industry one of VA of the Year North East 2019 and Finalist for New Business of the year for Wakefield District in 2012 are the most coveted.
What are your future ambitions:
My business is a team and I love that we are small. However, that extra dimension of having a manager in place with a bigger team and attracting more clients to support will allow me to do more of what I love which is brainstorming and developing plans to achieve goals.
